Background:

This realistic vector graphic design was made to show how my technical knowledge in Illustrator as it can turn realistic object into vector graphics.

Concept

The idea of this project is to recreate a photographed image with enough detail that it resembled the original image as much as possible. The purpose of this project was to utilize all the tools such as pathfinder, pen tool and gradient tool to achieve the final look.

Process

Choosing Object

First, I needed an object that one dimensional. I chose this object simply because I love taking pictures and I actually own the same camera.

Making Shapes

Image tracing was forbidden in this project. Therefore, I had to make all the shapes using all the technical skills I know in Illustrator.

Adding Gradients

Applying shapes and gradients are what made this project possible. By creating gradients, I was able to give a sense of depth. In addition, I had to make all the colors global in order to change the colors easily for any revisions.

Revisions

Since I made global colors and proper layer naming, I was able to easily run through any revisions the client had for me. In my case, I added more details to the camera to make it more realistic.
